Description:

A grounding balance pose that fosters focus, stability, and inner calm. Tree pose strengthens the legs and core while opening the hips and cultivating a sense of rootedness.

Alignment Cues:

  • Standing Foot and Leg:
    • Root firmly through the standing foot
    • Standing leg strong and straight with a soft micro-bend in the knee
  • Lifted Foot and Leg:
    • Place the sole of the lifted foot on the inner ankle, calf, or thigh—avoid the knee
    • Press foot and leg into each other for mutual support
  • Hips:
    • Hips square to the front
    • Keep pelvis neutral with tailbone lengthening down
  • Spine and Torso:
    • Stand tall through the crown of the head
    • Engage the core to support balance
  • Arms and Hands:
    • Hands at heart center or extend arms overhead like branches
    • Shoulders relaxed away from ears
